Bond 2020 kicks off with school design charettes for new replacement schools
0Dallas ISD Bond and Construction is launching the Bond 2020 program with virtual design charettes for 11 new replacements schools. On November 3, voters approved Proposition A, which provided $3.2 billion to fund repairs and upgrades to more than 200 of the district’s 230 campuses. P-TECH sophomores commit to graduate and return to Dallas ISD as teachers
0For W.T. White High School B-TECH sophomore Micayla Martin, volunteering in one of her school’s special education classrooms helped her realize her calling of becoming a teacher. Martin, who is enrolled in her school’s education pathway, now has a big head start on achieving her calling after being one of 12 W.T. Seventy-five outstanding students receive scholarships funded in Superintendent Hinojosa’s honor
0Seventy-five outstanding graduating seniors are receiving the annual Superintendent’s Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each. For over a decade, the Superintendent’s Scholarships have been funded with proceeds from the annual Superintendent’s Scholarship Golf Tournament supported by members of the business and civic community. The student recipients were selected from each of our comprehensive high schools based on academic achievement, character, service and financial need. Dallas ISD’s free summer learning experience will meet the needs of the whole child
0Dallas ISD is offering a free summer learning experience to students that, if offered by another provider, would likely cost families at least $300. “This is an outstanding opportunity for students that won’t cost their parents a penny,” said Sharla Hudspeth, executive director for Dallas ISD Extracurricular and Extended Learning Opportunities. The PreK–8 Summer Cool Camp is designed to meet the needs of the whole child. Students will experience a full day of activities, ranging from fun hands-on learning to various extracurricular activities.
