Operation Connectivity: Dallas ISD considering investments to close Dallas’ digital divide
0Dallas ISD spearheaded Operation Connectivity with the vision of providing high-speed, reliable internet and digital devices to all Dallas ISD households to facilitate remote learning during the pandemic. 0Here are the top 10 things parents need to know to keep our schools COVID-safe. Safety is our top priority when schools start Aug. 2, Aug. 9 and Aug. 16. Check your school’s start date at: www.dallasisd.org/schoolcalendars. Masks are optional; however, we recommend face coverings for all. PPE, including masks and hand sanitizer, will be available at every campus. We will maintain 3 feet of social distancing (6 feet where appropriate). Handwashing is an important and recommended prevention strategy. Students and staff should self-check temperature each day and stay home when ill; no on-site temperature checks will be done. 2021 Mayor’s Back to School Fair to happen Aug. 6
0Mayor Eric Johnson announced that the 25th annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair will take place Aug. 6, 2021. Similar to last year’s event, this year’s Back to School Fair will be much more condensed than in the past and there will be two options to pick up school supplies. Drive-Thru Only Fair Friday, August 6, 2021 | 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Upon arrival at the drive-thru fair, families must remain in their vehicles and volunteers will load the school supplies in the trunk or bed of the vehicle.
