0Camile White was sworn in on Monday, May 16, to serve on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees. White represents District 4, which includes parts of southeast Dallas, Pleasant Grove, Balch Springs and Seagoville. White is a longtime resident of Dallas ISD District 4 and the proud mother of three Dallas ISD graduates, according to her web page. White is a realtor and former educator. White received more votes than incumbent Karla Garcia in the election for District 4.

0The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees this evening named Stephanie Elizalde as the lone finalist in their superintendent search in a unanimous vote. There is now a 21-day state-mandated waiting period before Elizalde can officially become the next Dallas ISD superintendent. Elizalde is currently the superintendent of the Austin Independent School District, serving more than 80,000 students and 12,000 employees. 0Bus drivers and monitors on average would receive a 10 percent pay increase next school year under the district’s proposed 2022-2023 budget. Returning transportation employees will also receive an additional $2,500 retention bonus next school year in addition the the pay level increase. 0Dallas ISD named the teachers and principals of the year at the inaugural 2021-2022 Educator of the Year Awards presented by the Dallas Education Foundation and sponsored by Reliant.
