Parents and community members gathered on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Robert T. Hill Middle School to hear information about the 2015 proposed bond program. Dallas voters will have a chance to consider the $1.6 billion bond in the Nov. 3 elections. District 3 Trustee Dan Micciche hosted Wednesday’s meeting. District 9 Trustee Bernadette Nutall will host a similar meeting next week, set for 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Dallas County Schools Technology and Training Center, 5151 Samuell Blvd.
Christopher Green, a band teacher at W.H. Adamson High School, got a big surprise on Tuesday, Sept. 15, during an assembly secretly arranged for him at the school. Green is one of 15 national finalists in the Farmers Insurance Dream Big Teacher Challenge. The winner of the challenge will receive a $100,000 education grant. In the contest, Green submitted a proposal, which landed him in the finals. Now he will be asked to create a compelling video of how he would use the $100,000 prize.
