Dallas ISD was recognized at the Jan. 26 board meeting for being one of 433 schools to land on the College Board’s 7th Annual AP® District Honor Roll. To be included on the 7th Annual Honor Roll, Dallas ISD had to, since 2014, increase the number of students participating in Advanced Placement while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. Reaching these goals shows that Dallas ISD is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are ready for AP.

Varios estudiantes de Skyline High School tendrán la oportunidad de estudiar en el extranjero el próximo verano gracias a becas del Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). Miguel Solís, representante del Distrito 8, fue elegido el 5 de noviembre de 2013, por medio de una elección especial, siendo el más joven jamás elegido a la Junta Escolar de Dallas ISD. Poco después, fue reelegido para servir un término de tres años. El 26 de junio de 2014, Solís fue seleccionado por sus compañeros como presidente de la Junta Escolar, el más joven en servir en dicho puesto. Graduating Dallas ISD student-athlete seniors who have committed to scholarship offers to play sports and study at colleges and universities will get their moment to shine at the Athletic Signing Day event on Feb. 1, 11 a.m. at Ellis Davis Field House. Representing District 8, Miguel Solis became the youngest board member ever elected to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on November 5, 2013 through special election. Soon after, he was re-elected to serve a three-year term. On June 26, 2014, Solis was selected by his fellow Trustees as the Board President, making him the youngest ever to serve in the position. Dallas ISD’s Transformation Schools offer specialized academic programming, similar to magnet schools. Unlike magnet schools, Transformation Schools do not have any academic entry requirements — they are open enrollment for all students across the entire district, regardless of academic ability.
