We recently caught up with Alexus Ferrell who is a video producer for Dallas ISD’s only broadcast channel, Dallas Schools Television (DSTV). Echoing the 18th Century, Skyline High School looked like a scene from Hamilton, one of Broadway’s most recent musical phenomena. Elementary students paraded through Skyline’s gym wearing tailcoats, frock coats, prairie dresses, and colonial soldier costumes as they participated in the 2023 Lone Star Challenge program in early May. More than 500 students competed in the Lone Star Challenge competition which is a scholastic contest wherein their mastery of a theme-based topic is revealed as they compete against hundreds of other students in nine-member teams. A partir del lunes, 5 de junio, las oficinas de Dallas ISD seguirán el horario de verano. Las oficinas abrirán de 7 a.m. a 6 p.m. de lunes a jueves, y cerrarán los viernes durante junio y julio. Starting Monday, June 5, Dallas ISD offices will begin operating on summer hours for the months of June and July. District offices will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and closed Friday. Additionally,  Dallas ISD offices will be closed Monday, June 19, in recognition of Juneteenth, which is a federal holiday. The district will also be closed for summer break from July 3 through July 7. All central staff will return to work July 10. Additional resources are linked below.
