When Principal Reymundo Cervantes arrived at Henry B. Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy in 2017, parent engagement was not at its highest, to say the least. Starting the week of June 6, the district will be closed on Fridays as central staff employees begin to work the summer schedule four-day week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the summer, the district will be closed on June 20 in recognition of Juneteenth, which is now a federal holiday. The district will also be closed for summer break July 4-8. All central staff will return to work on July 11. On Tuesday, May 24, Woodrow Wilson High School held its secondary dual language program recognition ceremony for a total of 51 bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural graduating seniors.
