The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees at its June meeting approved the district’s budget for 2022-2023, which includes $51.2 million in salary increases for staff and $52 million for retention incentives—a combined $103.2 million in compensation increases. Teachers The approved budget includes an adjustment for most levels in the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI). Teachers will get the greater of three increases—a change in TEI effectiveness level, a change in the compensation for the effectiveness level or the board-approved increase (3% of compensation level). Approximately 250 Dallas ISD staff members across the district have earned a Mindfulness Coach Certification from the district’s Social and Emotional Learning department. All three Dallas ISD Career Institutes (CI) are hosting summer camps that introduce middle school students to the career and technical education pathways offered at their campuses. The sixth- and seventh-grade scholars who are part of Summer Breeze 2022 are training for various careers using industry-standard equipment in state-of-the-art facilities while learning about the free programs available to them.
