Last Saturday, Dallas ISD hosted a ceremony to change the name of the school formerly known as Sarah Zumwalt Middle School to Dr. Frederick D. Todd, Sr. Middle School. Dr. Todd was a longtime educator who served in different positions across his 46 years of career – including a period as principal of the school that now bears his name. Dr. Todd’s sons and family members joined Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde and Principal Bobby Nevels at the renaming ceremony to honor his legacy.
Guests including Trustee Maxie Johnson, Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde, former Superintendent Michael Hinojosa, alumni, families and students helped Dallas ISD celebrate the newly renovated Franklin D. Thanks to voters who passed the 2015 Bond, the campus underwent a $64 million dollar renovation and reconstruction. See highlights of the event in the photo slideshow and video.
