On Tyler Street in Dallas’ Bishop Arts neighborhood sits a little store chock full of cultural nostalgia for Mexico. From leather goods to pottery, houseware, clothing, and jewelry, Heritage Collective DFW aims to elevate Mexican artisans. The store is owned and operated by the family of Elba Munoz, who – in her day job – is a longtime administrative assistant in Dallas ISD. Luis Covarrubias, maestro de ciencias de quinto grado de Mount Auburn STEAM Academy, se dedica a crear recuerdos con sus estudiantes a través de prácticas en el laboratorio y actividades, algo que ahora puede hacer mucho mejor gracias al nuevo laboratorio de ciencias de la escuela. Mount Auburn recibió una subvención de $ 20,000 del East Dallas Exchange Club la primavera pasada para hacer renovaciones. National Suicide Prevention Month is recognized during September to raise awareness and support for those who are struggling.
