Parent involvement is a key factor in a student’s academic and athletic success according to Gil Garza, Dallas ISD athletics director. Research shows that students and student-athletes are more successful when they have a foundation of a supportive parent or family member. The freezing temperatures weren’t enough to dissuade soon-to-be-graduates of University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University from coming out to the recent Education Career Fair in Denton.
