Woodrow Wilson robotics team joins forces with peers for state title

The Woodrow Wilson High School robotics team is celebrating after winning the inaugural UIL Robotics Championship held July 28-29 in Austin.

The state title was a joint victory, with Woodrow Wilson students sharing the victory with Greenville High School, Clear Creek ISD and Harlandale High School.

“We are so humbled, grateful, and excited to be a part of the first-ever UIL Texas Robotics State Championship winning alliance team in the FRC Division,” read a statement from Woodrow Wilson High robotics teachers Terry Tolleson, Daniel Garrison and Brandon Carver. “This is a huge accomplishment for our students and the Woodrow Wilson High School community, and we look forward to all that this will mean for the future of our young and growing program.”

Woodrow Wilson robotics team members include:

Archer Hasbany, Kyle Davis, Noah Hamilton, Nathen Biederman, Henry Lloyd, Ethan Coplin, Samantha Reveles, Lauren Spellman and Canyon Kidd. There were several team members that were unable to attend this competition due to other commitments.

The robotics team was also supported by mentors from the professional community, including Steve Clynes of Texas Instruments. Another mentors Tony Rylander of Luminant Energy, was unable to attend.
