The South Oak Cliff High School Golden Bears are celebrating a historic victory after earning their third UIL 5A, Division II state championship title. Dallas ISD will honor the milestone with a parade recognizing the dedication, perseverance, and excellence of the student-athletes and coaching staff.

The championship parade will take place Saturday, inviting students, families, alumni, and community members to line the route and cheer on the Golden Bears. The parade will conclude with a celebration at South Oak Cliff High School.

South Oak Cliff is one of only eight schools in Texas to advance to the UIL state championship game for five consecutive seasons, a mark of sustained success that continues to define the program. With the team’s latest win, Head Coach Jason Todd also made history, becoming the first Black head coach to win three Texas high school football UIL state championships.

“I think this is the greatest story because no one ever said this could happen here,” Todd said. “And we say you can do it right here in South Oak Cliff, Texas.”

The parade will feature performances by school bands and dance teams, along with special moments highlighting the championship season. The event provides an opportunity for the Oak Cliff community to come together and celebrate a program that continues to set the standard for excellence on and off the field.
