Dallas ISD is celebrating Attendance Awareness Month in September, promoting strong, consistent attendance habits that will set students up for success at all grade levels.

The theme for the 2025-2026 school year is “Show up! Attendance Matters.”

The Graduation, Recovery, Attendance/Advocacy and Dropout Intervention department is hosting weekly kickoffs for students and team members to help build routines, increase engagement, provide access to resources, and support learning.

Participation varies by campus.

Weekly kickoffs

Each Wednesday throughout the month, central office and campus team members are encouraged to participate in weekly attendance awareness dress-up days.

The theme for every week can be found below:

Week 1, Sept. 3: Monochrome Day, One Color, One Goal: Perfect Attendance
Dress in a single color from head to toe.

Week 2, Sept. 10: Jungle Safari Day: Don’t Let Attendance Go Wild
Wear animal prints, safari hats, khaki, or jungle explorer gear.

Week 3, Sept. 17: Twin Squad Day: Better Together–Attend Together
Dress like a friend or group. Duo, trio, or quadruplet day.

Week 4, Sept. 24: Walk the Walk. Show Up to Shine! Attendance All-Stars–Every Day is Your Premiere
Wear something bright, sparkly, or dress like a superstar. It’s your spotlight moment.
