Written by Chandler Flowers, Communication Services junior associate.

Summer Breeze, Dallas ISD’s free summer school program, begins on June 2, bringing two months of fun for every kind of student.

Students who participate in Summer Breeze will have a chance to connect with their peers, partake in rigorous tasks, accelerate learning, and improve their social and emotional well-being.

The program started in 2021, and has been successful among parents and students in the district, with almost 30,000 students participating last year.

Extracurricular and academic activities for students will be spread across all of Dallas ISD’s campuses. Transportation, as well as breakfast and lunch, are provided for students throughout the day. More details about transportation to the programs will be provided soon on the Dallas ISD’s transportation website.

Students looking to get a head start in their learning? Academic activities include:

  • End-of-course testing and tutoring
  • Credit acceleration for Texas Success Initiative
  • ACT and SAT prep
  • High school credit recovery

Students who want to participate in extracurricular activities over the summer have so much to choose from, including:

  • Summer band
  • Marching band
  • Science discovery
  • Drill team dance camp.

Students can even have fun in the sun with sports camps for basketball, flag football, and many more.

For more details about the Summer Breeze academic and extracurricular programs, check the official Summer Breeze website.
