Located in the heart of Dallas, Henry W. Longfellow served generations of students n, known not only for its academic excellence but also for its nurturing environment and commitment to exploration, creativity, and community. For decades, Longfellow has inspired young minds to dream big and think boldly, laying the groundwork for successful futures in every field imaginable.
The farewell event will be an opportunity for alumni, current and former staff, students, families, and community members to walk the halls one last time, share memories, and celebrate the indelible impact Longfellow has had on Dallas ISD and beyond.
“While we say goodbye to the physical building, the spirit of Longfellow lives on,” said M. Scott Tatum, principal. “This school has been a second home to so many, and we’re proud of the generations of leaders, artists, scientists, and thinkers who began their journeys here.”
As part of the district’s 2020 Bond Program, Longfellow’s legacy will be honored through future investments that continue to prioritize academic innovation and student opportunity. The goodbye is not an ending, it’s a new beginning with a brand new campus opening in August 2025.
“Longfellow’s rich history will always be a part of Dallas ISD,” Tatum said. “The best is truly yet to come, and we are committed to preserving the values and excellence that have defined Longfellow for generations.”
