Sixth-grade students across Dallas ISD recently participated in the district’s annual Model United Nations, a co-curricular experience that builds on classroom lessons in world cultures and social studies.

This year’s theme, “The International Year of the Cooperatives: Cooperatives Build a Better World,” set the stage for a day of global exploration, cultural exchange, and youth leadership.
As part of the experience, students traveled from station to station, touring 17 countries and one Native American tribe. At each station, students represented their nation by presenting key features of the economy, political system, geography, and culture. With Model UN passports in hand, they collected stamps and gained a deeper understanding of our interconnected world.

This event was an engaging and impactful learning experience that encouraged students to think critically, participate in civic dialogue, and make meaningful global connections.
