Dallas ISD elementary and middle schools received top rankings in a recent report from the U.S. News & World Report.
William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard for the Academically Talented and Gifted, is ranked at No. 2 in the state for both elementary and middle school.
“This incredible achievement is a testament to the commitment of our Travis TAG faculty and staff to our vision of setting the standard for gifted and talented education,” said Alessandra Mercon, principal of Travis TAG. “We work hard every day to develop a sense of belonging in our school for everyone, ensuring every student feels seen and known. That foundation allows us to grow each student, being intentional to create effective instructional experiences that empower and inspire our students.”
Earlier this year, four Dallas ISD high schools ranked in the top 10 in the state, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The top Dallas ISD elementary schools in Texas are:
- No. 2: William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard for the Academically Talented and Gifted
- No. 6: Sudie L. Williams Talented and Gifted Academy
- No. 11: Lakewood Elementary School
- No. 17: School for Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove
The top Dallas ISD middle schools in Texas are:
- No. 2: William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard for the Academically Talented and Gifted.
- No. 4: School for Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove
- No. 5: Sudie L. Williams Talented and Gifted Academy
- No. 16: Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy
- No. 33: Trinity Heights Talented and Gifted School
U.S. News calculated the K-8 rankings based on students’ proficiency on mathematics and reading/language arts state assessments. According to U.S. News, “there is no national ranking, but there are distinct elementary and middle school rankings calculated at the state and district levels.”
