Schools to be closed on Election Day

All Dallas ISD campuses are serving as polling sites for Election Day, and will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Students will not report to school however, this day is designated as a professional development day for teachers.  

This measure will ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff while the campuses are open to the public for the election. The district’s administrative offices will remain open and central team members will work a regular day.

Dallas ISD Votes!

Early voting will run from Monday, Oct. 21 to Friday, Nov. 1. Registered and eligible voters may cast their ballot at any early voting location in their county of registration. To find a polling location, click here. Locations will show two days prior to the first day of early voting.

On Election Day, Nov. 5, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all polling locations. For questions, consult the County Elections Office.

Under Texas law, voters must present one of the following seven acceptable forms of identification at the polls when voting in person:

  • Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety 
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  • Texas handgun license issued by DPS
  • United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
  • United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph or
  • Passport

Celebrate exercising your right to vote by showcasing your “I Voted” sticker on social media using the hashtag #DallasISDVotes.
