Falling behind in classes can significantly impact a high schooler’s path to graduation, so the district is hosting a GrA²D Fair with the theme “Credit Catch-up,” aimed at students who may have fallen behind in their studies, dropped out, or faced truancy.
The event provides a crucial opportunity to get back on track for graduation in 2025. Parents/guardians, educators, and community stakeholders are also encouraged to attend and gain valuable knowledge and resources to help students.
Hosted by Graduation, Recovery, Attendance, Advocacy, & Dropout Intervention Department, the event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 14 at the Sprague Athletic Complex, 3701 Boulder Dr., Dallas, TX.
Designed to inspire, educate, and empower students, the fair shows students how to prioritize their education through a showcase of credit recovery programs such as Reconnection, Reconnection Plus, Evening Academy, Freshman On-Track Initiative, Grad Lab, and Phoenix. The fair will also feature attendance improvement programs, a Q&A session, and student success stories.
The fair will also offer resources like personalized “blueprint” plans for graduation, success coaches, and detailed information on various credit recovery programs to attendees. In addition to the educational resources, there will be prizes, food, and student performances.
