For the second year in a row, Dallas ISD high schools earned the top three spots in Texas, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best High Schools rankings. Additionally, eight schools ranked in the top 50 in Texas.
Out of 17,655 nationally-ranked schools and nearly 2,000 schools ranked in Texas, the School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center was ranked No. 1 in Texas and sixth nationally.
“Being the number one high school in Texas and sixth nationally is a great accomplishment,” said Arnoldo Zuniga, TAG principal. “The recognition is due to the tireless effort of our teachers, students, and parents, which allows students not only to only succeed academically, but more importantly, allows students to develop their own path towards future success.”
According to the U.S. News & World Report study, students who attend the highest-ranked public schools demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading, and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores on an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.
Dallas ISD schools ranked in the top 50 in Texas are:

No. 2: Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School
No. 3: School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
No. 10: Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet
No. 21: Trinidad “Trini” Garza Early College High School at Mountain View
No. 27: School of Health Professions at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
No. 36: Marvin E. Robinson School of Business and Management at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
No. 42: Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
