Booker T. triumphs at State Mock Trial Competition, heads to nationals

The 2023-2024 State Mock Trial Competition unfolded over spring break, as Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet, Woodrow Wilson High School, and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) engaged in fierce legal battles against schools from across Texas.

All three schools advanced to the second day of competition. Woodrow Wilson claimed eighth place, while Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet secured a sixth-place finish. The Booker T. Washington HSPVA team emerged victorious, clinching the first-place title. Adding to the honor, Lola Saldana of Booker T. Washington HSPVA, earned second place as a courtroom artist.

Booker T. Washington HSPVA now sets its sights on the National Mock Trial Competition in Wilmington, Delaware, slated for May 2-5. These gifted young legal minds are poised to make history within Dallas ISD. 

Dallas ISD schools competition results:
First place: Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
Sixth place: Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet
Eighth place: Woodrow Wilson High School

Second place in courtroom Artists: Lola Saldana of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
