The success of The Crowther Group, one of Dallas ISD’s prime construction vendors, highlights the positive impact of the district’s Minority & Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) department on the community.
Dallas ISD serves as a key component for the growth of businesses such as The Crowther Group, one of the district’s few certified M/WBE prime vendors, which increases competition in the bidding process for the district.
“The Crowther Group helps bring in M/WBE subcontractors in all facets of their business ensuring projects are completed in a quality manner. They’ve learned how to bid and manage our projects over time,” Wilton Munnings, M/WBE manager, said. “They’ve come a long way.”
The Crowther Group is also a P-TECH (Pathways to Technology Early College High School) Industry Partner, actively engaged in developing the future construction workforce.
“It’s tremendous the success The Crowther Group has achieved, and what that does is open up more avenues for other M/WBE vendors in the Dallas community,” Munnings said. “It fuels our economy with people that live and work in Dallas.”
