Dallas ISD encourages reporting bullying via Let’s Talk!

Each October, Dallas ISD marks National Bullying Prevention Month in recognition of the need to address the profound impact bullying can have on students’ self-esteem, mental health, and school attendance.

Knowing that students require a safe and civil environment to learn and attain high academic standards and develop healthy human relationships, the district strives to combat bullying by providing tools for prevention and intervention.

“Bullying is a serious issue, and with the advancement of technology, it has become increasingly important to educate both parents and students about the many forms that bullying can take,” said Mahoganie Gaston, Counseling Services coordinator. “By providing tools to recognize and combat bullying, we can work together to create a safer and more supportive environment for our students.”

One of those tools is Let’s Talk!, an online communication platform that can be used to report incidents of bullying and related concerns promptly. Let’s Talk! enables community members to submit questions, comments, or concerns 24/7, fostering open dialogue and aiding in identifying potential crises before they escalate.

The platform can be used with a computer, tablet, or smartphone. A connection with any district department is just a click away. All feedback will be routed to the appropriate team members, who will follow up within three business days. By engaging through Let’s Talk!, the community can help build stronger relationships and improve the overall well-being of students.
