The Dallas Education Foundation’s (DEF) third annual Heart of Teaching Gala, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Longhorn Ballroom, promises a night of music, dancing, and theatrical performances, with civic and philanthropic leaders competing for the coveted Dancing with the Stars of Dallas Mirror Ball trophy.

Securing a ticket to the gala helps unlock opportunities for students and educators, as all proceeds will directly fund programming and innovative teacher grants that will accelerate early learning, advance literacy, and drive post-secondary success.

Hosted by Honorary Chair and former Ambassador Ron Kirk, the gala will showcase dancing by the “Stars of Dallas” – including Dallas ISD Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde, Ed.D, Texas State Rep. Rafael Anchia, WFAA Anchor Cynthia Izaguirre, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, the Honorable Jennifer Staubach Gates, and DEF Board President Victor Vital.

Superintendent  Elizalde is looking forward to attending her second Heart of Teaching gala, saying, “I’ll always show up for the Dallas Education Foundation because they always show up for our students.”

DEF has granted more than $7 million over the last three years for the benefit of Dallas ISD, focusing on the path toward economic mobility for all students.

Quan Powers, dance and drill team director at H. Grady Spruce High School, said, “I am honored to participate in the Heart of Teaching Gala because my journey as a student who didn’t have access to the arts has fueled my passion for arts education advocacy. Growing up, I yearned for the opportunities that I saw others enjoy, and that desire has driven me to ensure no student in our community faces limitations.”

More than just a seat at an event, attendance at the gala is a pledge, a commitment, and a small step in a dance that moves the entire community toward a future filled with possibilities. Secure a ticket and join the symphony of supporters, educators, and community leaders at this scintillating event.
