What high school did you graduate from and what year did you graduate?
High School of Health Professions at Townview Magnet Center in 2012.
What are your responsibilities as a director of clinical operations?
I oversee all clinical operations for four veterinary clinics across 3 states to ensure uniformity across the company. I also directly supervise three practice managers to ensure all policies and procedures are created, adapted, implemented, and enforced.
What are some career or personal highlights/accomplishments?
I began as a veterinary assistant in 2011. Working with ReadiVet as a start-up company, I began my career with them as a technician, then practice manager, then regional clinical operations manager, to now the director of clinical operations within 4 years of being with the company. In all positions, I have been able to help clients and their pets receive superb medical from the comfort of their homes along with providing a sustainable long-term career option for veterinary technicians and doctors. At ReadiVet, we believe in a work-life balance for our employees and excellent service for our clients.
What made your Dallas ISD education unique?
Who was your favorite Dallas ISD teacher or what was your favorite course, and why?
My favorite class was choir and music theory. I was very active in Townview’s choir and we were very good. Mr. Decutler was an awesome teacher. He not only taught us songs to sing but also how to sight-read and truly understand the meaning of the songs we sing.
What advice, if any, would you offer to students who are interested in your career field?
Do your research! The veterinary industry is way more than just caring for animals but is very rewarding. You do not have to become a veterinarian to be fulfilled and successful. There are endless roles and job paths opportunities for you to explore.
