Dallas ISD’s Minority & Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) department is hosting the annual Knowledge Is Power Business Conference, which will take place virtually from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25. Gain insight from three successful entrepreneurs who will share their strategies for dealing with volatility and changes in the economic landscape:

  • Elba Garcia, Dallas County Commissioner for District 4
  • Patricia Rodriguez Christian, President and CEO of CRC Group Inc
  • Hiawatha Williams, founder of the Williams Chicken franchise

Get their take on inflation, recession, global pandemics, and other circumstances that have a profound impact on the business environment. At the conference, best strategies for dealing with the rapidly changing business environment will be discussed and there will be breakout sessions on Business Finances, Understanding the Procurement Process, and M/WBE Certification. This workshop will be presented by the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency, The Women’s Business Council Southwest, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council.
