More than 20 Dallas ISD principals were invited to a celebratory dinner for being named 2022-23 Master Principals, a designation awarded to only the top 10% of neighborhood elementary, secondary and choice school principals. A red carpet was rolled out at the Dallas Arboretum for the celebration, and entertainment was provided by the district’s very own Mariachi band, Los Unicos de Greiner Middle School Exploratory Arts Academy, and the Skyline High School jazz band. A special dinner was served and remarks were delivered by Superintendent of Schools Stephanie Elizalde, Chief of Strategic Initiatives Brian Lusk, and Chief of School Leadership Tiffany Huitt.
The Master Principal designation is part of the Theory of Action, which governs how Dallas ISD makes decisions that ultimately impact student achievement. The criteria used are the School Effectiveness Index, State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness/ EOC Domain 1, and campus climate data. The designations were revealed on December 13 at the annual School Leadership holiday celebration.
