The U.S. will hold Midterm Elections on November 8th. Dallas ISD has partnered with March to the Polls to encourage all eligible voters to vote in this election. 

Staff who vote early and show their “I Voted” sticker to their supervisor can wear jeans every Tuesday of early voting through Election Day. Those who wait to vote on Nov. 8 will be able to wear jeans that day or on Friday, Nov. 11 (for those who wait until after the work day to vote). They, too, must show their voter sticker to their supervisor.

Be a role model

Voting is one of the rights and privileges afforded to U.S. citizens, and it is the way that every citizen is given a voice in choosing a representative government at the local, state and national levels. Show students the importance of voting by sharing your photo with your “I Voted” sticker on social media and using the hashtag #DallasISDVotes. If you are sharing on Twitter, tag us @TeamDallasISD.

It’s not too late to make your voice heard! Here are three details that can help you get started.

When does early voting start and how do I vote early?

Early voting begins Oct. 24 and ends Nov. 4.

Voting during the early voting period couldn’t be easier and more convenient! Registered and eligible voters may vote at ANY early voting location located in their county of residence. 

Whether you are at home, work or out running errands, you will be able to find a polling place near you. Early voting locations will be populated in our search site “My Voter Portal” two days prior to the first day of early voting. Here, you can enter your Name, County, Date of Birth and ZIP code to look up your registration information and find your nearest polling location. You may want to contact the Early Voting Clerk for State and County Elections in your county for early voting locations. Also, many newspapers publish early voting polling locations.

When is election day and how do I vote?

Election Day is on Nov. 8th. 

If your county participates in the Countywide Polling Place Program (CWPP) – commonly referred to as ‘Vote Centers’ – you can vote at any location in your county of residence. Dallas County is among the counties on the list of counties using the Countywide Polling Place Program for the November 8, 2022 General Election date. 

If your county does not participate in the CWPP, you can only vote at the voting precinct assigned to you. Your residence is located in a specific “precinct” or area within the county where you will vote on Election Day. In some cases, precincts may be combined to accommodate joint local elections. *You can find your voting precinct location by using our search site “My Voter Portal,” which will be populated with voting sites two days prior to Election Day. Many newspapers publish Election Day polling locations as well. Election Day voting hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at all polling places statewide. For questions regarding polling places, always consult your County Elections Office.

What should I bring to the polls?

Under Texas law, voters who possess one of the seven acceptable forms of photo ID must present that ID at the polls when voting in person.

• Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
• Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
• Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
• Texas handgun license issued by DPS
• United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
• United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph or
• Passport
