Dallas ISD held a summer commencement ceremony – the last graduation for the class of 2022 – at Ellis Davis Field House on Aug. 9th.

Approximately 170 students who graduated from 25 Dallas ISD high schools walked the stage.

Dallas ISD Chief of School Leadership Tiffany Huitt opened the ceremony with a welcome speech. She thanked the school counselors and administrators for working alongside the educational team to ensure students were attending regularly and providing social and emotional support.

“Graduates, I want to congratulate you for reaching this important milestone in your lives and I commend you because you have done what others thought was impossible,” Huitt said. “You may have faced some challenging times during your senior year, but you prioritize your education and engaged with your coursework, and you made it. You have shown us what it takes to persevere and to set your mind to a goal and to reach it.”

Joyce Foreman, who represents District 6 on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees, shared words of encouragement for the graduates.

“Graduation is not only an act of personal accomplishment, but one of great pride,” Foreman said. Class of 2022, you’ve all worked so hard to get to this day and I want you to soak it up and enjoy this moment. But I also want you to challenge you not to stop here.
