Dallas ISD statement on violence in Uvalde ISD

By The Hub on May 25, 2022 Headlines

Dallas ISD is saddened beyond words and heartbroken for the loss of innocent lives, as we join every community across Texas and the entire nation to condemn the senseless violence in Uvalde ISD. School safety is the number one priority of every district, and Dallas ISD is committed to continuously improving safety procedures and monitoring at schools.

Dallas ISD and DPD will provide additional patrols at all our schools for the remainder of the week. Also, Dallas ISD Mental Health Services will be on hand to provide psychological supports to help students and staff process this incredible tragedy.

Gun violence is an issue everyone must help combat to protect lives, and greater conversations on prevention efforts must continue to ensure that schools are safe places to learn and grow.  Dallas ISD is committed to promote gun safety awareness and empower students and families to report concerning activity through the new Say Something anonymous reporting app.

The tragedy at Uvalde, along with all other school shootings, is difficult to process—there is nothing about this that makes sense. Yet, Texans are resilient, strong, and always better when joining together to support each other and impact change.
