Dallas ISD’s Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program is a home-based home visitation program that focuses on parent-involved early learning and provides solutions that strengthen families. HIPPY aims to help parents prepare their children for success in school and beyond and empower parents as their child’s first and most influential teacher.
One goal of the program is to increase father engagement by strengthening the father-child bond. Research shows that children do better when dads are involved. So, in 2020, HIPPY joined forces with Dallas ISD’s Pre-K Partnerships and All Pro Dads to broaden their approach in working with fathers.
On Saturday, April 30, 2022, Dallas ISD HIPPY and Pre-K Partnership’s All Pro Dads Chapter will host a father engagement field trip to give over 200 fathers and their children a “behind-the-scenes guided tour” of AT&T Stadium. The field trip will provide a time for fathers and their children to:
- Spend quality time together.
- Engage in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Build peer support.
- Recognize fathers for their efforts and achievements and the fund of knowledge they bring from their homes and communities.
