All Dallas ISD students who will be in grades 6-12 during the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to take Honors classes. Honors classes are available in English, math, science, and social studies. High school campuses may have additional Honors classes available.
These classes encourage students to work with their classmates and to think more critically and creatively. They also create a strong foundation for advanced coursework in high school and college. Additionally, high school Honors classes carry extra weight toward a student’s GPA.
Honors classes are open enrollment. Interested students should list the class on their 2022-2023 choice sheet and talk to their campus counselor. Students who score “meets” or “masters” on their spring 2022 STAAR tests will automatically be enrolled in the corresponding honors class.
