Did you know that K.B. Polk Center for Academically Talented and Gifted is a school within a school? This traditional neighborhood school serves Pre-K through seventh-grade students while also offering an application-based fine arts magnet program for students in fourth through seventh grade.

K.B. Polk’s TAG Fine Arts Magnet program, also known as a vanguard, is an excellent choice for Northwest Dallas families even if K.B. Polk is not their zoned neighborhood school. This program maintains a rigorous curriculum for its vanguard scholars and allows students to explore their creative nature through specialized instruction in music, visual arts, theater, dance, writing, and more.

Schoolwide initiatives focus on student academic achievement, leadership development and creating a positive campus culture through the implementation of the Ron Clark House System.

K.B. Polk also offers students instruction in both English and Spanish in their One- and Two-Way Dual Language instruction programs to meet the unique needs of every student. Finally, outstanding extracurricular activities – including UIL academics, chess, Esports, dance and Disney musical performances– are available to all of the school’s students.

“Here at K.B. Polk, we have a unique advantage of introducing students to the fine arts,” shared Rachel Bellcourt, assistant principal at Polk. “Our fine arts programs benefit both our magnet and traditional students.”
