As COVID-19 continues to be a challenge for our students and staff, there are a number of questions around the isolation and quarantine period.
Dallas ISD will adhere to the five-day isolation period for anyone who tests positive. If you are considered a close contact of someone who tests positive and are unvaccinated, you must also quarantine for the five-day period. Those who are fully vaccinated and exposed to someone who is COVID positive are not required to quarantine if they are not showing symptoms. However, they must wear a mask at all times while on district property. Fully vaccinated is considered having received two doses of Moderna or Pfizer and one dose of Johnson & Johnson.
We highly recommend vaccines for everyone who is eligible, and encourage staff and students to update their vaccine status by getting the booster to provide added levels of protection. We are continuing to monitor the data to determine if adjustments to protocols need to be made. As always, the well-being of students and staff remains our top priority, and we appreciate everyone’s help to keep us all safe.
