Citing the increase in local COVID-19 cases and only two available pediatric ICU beds in North Texas, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins today on Wednesday issued an executive order requiring masks in schools, businesses and county buildings.

Under the order that goes into effect Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 11:59 p.m., all teachers, students, staff and visitors at childcare centers and schools in Dallas County–which includes Dallas ISD–must wear masks.

The executive order follows Dallas ISD’s Aug. 10 announcement that the district is temporarily requiring all staff, students and visitors to wear masks when on district property.
In addition to masks, Dallas ISD is taking a comprehensive approach to keep schools, students, teachers and staff members as safe as possible. Click here to learn more.
