In honor of National School Nurse Day, Central Health Services would like to spotlight our Nurses and support staff for the incredible job they have done this school year during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During these unprecedented times, back-to-school preparations included training in district safety protocols, infection control measures, contact tracing and rapid antigen testing for COVID-19. Nurses and support staff continue to be on the front lines assisting with daily symptom screening, continuous training on infection prevention measures and collaboration with the local public health authority, Dallas County Health & Human Services. Their commitment to district safety protocols guided by the latest scientific evidence was key to provide reassurance to parents and reconnect with students.
With a commitment to a healthy learning and work environment nurses and Health Services support staff rose to the challenges as they occurred and became true superheroes!

“No one could have imagined what was to come for the 2020-2021 school year after closing our doors to students and family Spring of 2020. Working around the clock, she implemented systems and routines that eased the minds of staff and made them trust that in coming back to campus to serve children, their safety would remain a top priority. She has sacrificed weekends with family and loss countless hours of sleep. When she didn’t have the answer, she found the answer. “Thank you” will never be enough. No gift will ever be enough. It is because of Nurse Sears and her continuous efforts that as a campus, we experienced no spreads or fatalities.
