The Special Education Department is excited to announce the Super Parent Academy event on Wednesday, May 19th. This past school year has been one of many challenges and has changed the way students communicate and interact in the classroom. During the Super Parent Academy, Dallas ISD leaders will address major concerns for parents that have arisen during the pandemic. Leaders will provide new insights, information and recommendations that can help parents navigate the difficulties of learning gaps, mental health awareness and self-care practices.
Learning Gaps – The plan to address the lapse in learning that students have experienced over the past year.
Mental Health – A detailed conversation on the importance of mental health and how students in special education can benefit from engaging with the Dallas ISD Mental Health Services department.
Self-Care – Emphasizing the importance of taking care of yourself so that you better support others.
