There are three different Dallas ISD 2021-2022 school year calendars.

The majority of campuses will have a base calendar, where school starts Aug. 16 and ends May 27. See the base calendar here.

Forty-one schools will have an intersession calendar, where school starts Aug. 9 and ends June 23. This creates time for five additional intersession weeks spread throughout the year. Not all students will be asked to attend the extra intersession weeks. Click here to see the list of schools adopting the intersession calendar, and click here to see the intersession calendar.

Five schools–Maple Lawn Elementary, H.I. Holland Elementary School at Lisbon, Edna Rowe Elementary School, Thomas J. Rusk Middle School and Boude Storey Middle School–have confirmed a “School Day Redesign” calendar, where school starts Aug. 2 and ends June 23 for all students, teachers and staff. Click here to see the School Day Redesign Calendar #1 and School Day Redesign Calendar #2.

The alternative calendars are one part of a comprehensive effort Dallas ISD is taking to help ensure the pandemic doesn’t have a long-lasting negative impact on student learning.
