Dallas ISD’s Student Transportation Services Department will host a job fair on Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 9 am to 2 pm. The job fair is an in-person event, which will be held at 5151 Samuel Blvd. in Dallas.
The job fair represents the district’s efforts to recruit more bus drivers in preparation for the 2021-2022 school year. Drivers must be at least 21 years old. Candidates with or without a commercial driver’s license (CDL) are invited to apply. The district will provide on-the-job training for those accepted candidates who do not have a commercial driver’s license.
The starting pay is $20.37 per hour for current commercial driver’s license holders. The starting pay for CDL trainees is $10.37 (Non-CDL/CDL Permit) and $16.63 (CDL/No School Bus Endorsements).
Student Transportation Services will award $200 to any Dallas ISD staff member who refers a candidate who is hired as a bus driver.
Registration is required to attend the job fair. Prospective candidates can register online at www.calendly.com/disd/job-fair-interviews. Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply prior to the job fair at www.dallasisd.org/careers.
Any candidate who would like to know more about becoming a school bus driver can join virtual Q&A sessions every Tuesday at https://calendly.com/disd/info-session?month=2021-03.
