Dallas ISD celebrates National Volunteer Recognition Month

0

In normal times, Dallas ISD schools would be observing National Volunteer Recognition Month with receptions, luncheons and special events to salute campus volunteers and partners. Instead, classes are on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On behalf of schools, Dallas ISD wants to express appreciation to everyone whose donations and service help make Dallas ISD a great place for students to learn and grow.

Whether you helped in a classroom, chaperoned a field trip, served as a tutor, or donated to help schools recover from the tornado damage, please accept our thanks. In this current crisis, supporters are continuing to step up, donating gift cards for families and volunteering to help with meal distribution. In a word, your response has been incredible.

As of spring break, volunteers have given 181,425 hours of service to the district, and partners have donated $8.9 million in cash, goods and services. While impressive, these figures cannot express the true value of our volunteers and partners. We salute you during Volunteer Recognition Month for all the ways you have joined with district staff to make a difference in the lives of our students and families.
