Two exciting new schools opening in August are now accepting applications!

A new Dallas ISD Montessori school opening in Downtown Dallas and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Arts Academy will provide even more education options to area families.

The downtown Montessori school will open by serving students in pre-K through second-grade. The school will first open at the University of North Texas building on Main Street, while the district works to identify a permanent location. Montessori schools, which are designed for independent thinkers who enjoy hands-on, collaborative learning, are popular in Dallas. Families can go here to apply to the Montessori school.

Meanwhile, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Arts Academy will usher a new era of arts education into the South Dallas community. The school is accepting applications for pre-K to fifth-grade. Families can go here to apply to the fine arts academy.

The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved the two schools during the Dec. 19 meeting.
