Seven Dallas ISD students have earned the Gates Scholarship, which is one of the nation’s most prestigious scholarships.
The Gates Scholarship will cover all college-related costs for the four students at the university or college of their choosing. The Gates Scholarship is highly selective and for Pell-Eligible, minority high school seniors. Only 300 seniors nationwide earn the scholarship
The Dallas ISD Gates Scholars are:
- Victor Nunez: Trinidad “Trini” Garza Early College High School
- Ana Saucedo: School for the Talented and Gifted
- Janeth Mendoza: Hillcrest High School
- Rogelio Mendoz: Skyline High School
- Ammar Alinur: School of Science and Engineering
- Timothy Ogunfunmi: School of Science and Engineering
- Ismael Carreno: School of Business and Management
