Texas education leaders visit Carr Elementary to see ACE success in action

0

It’s a Thursday morning at C.F. Carr Elementary School, and education leaders from across the state are standing back and watching a group of highly engaged students discuss their latest reading assignment.

The campus and district leaders from seven other school districts are taking notes and talking about what they are seeing in the classroom. The focus of the visit is the incredible turnaround Carr Elementary has seen as part of the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) program, which incentivizes  high-performing campus leaders and teachers to voluntarily work at low-performing schools. With the ACE program helping significantly reduce the number of low-performing schools in Dallas ISD, school districts across the state are looking to replicate the model that is accelerating learning for students.

“We are thrilled to visit classrooms, share best practices and learn together with educators across across Texas,” said Jolee Healey, the Dallas ISD Deputy Chief who oversees the ACE program.

Dallas ISD and Best in Class DFW hosted the ACE Learning Community Event on March 28 that also featured breakout sessions and time for questions and answers.
