Shannon Kline, a second-grade teacher at Anson Jones Elementary School, was surprised with a $10,000 check after being named a recipient of the Sanford Teacher Awards.
Kline was one of five inaugural awardees who demonstrate the qualities of inspiring teaching. Sanford Programs and the National University System hosted the awards.
After being surprised with the award, Kline teared up and thanked her fantastic students.
“This is my inspiration right here,” she said, pointing to the students. “These kids are my heart.”
