Campuses, departments prepare for racial equity grant requirements

0

Dallas ISD staff from various district departments and identified schools collaborated to complete individualized consultation sessions that align to five specific components of the Funds for Achievement and Racial Equity (FARE) Grant.

The purpose of the FARE Grant is to better support identified schools by providing additional funds to address academic and infrastructure needs in respect to these five components:

1) staffing

2) supplemental instructional programs

3) after-school enrichment programs

4) professional development

5) materials and resources

Departments participating were Teaching & Learning, School Leadership, Extended Learning Opportunities, Advanced Academic Services, Early Learning, Special Education, Student Engagement & Counseling Services and the Racial Equity Office.

Principals from the four participating high schools, nine middle schools and four elementary schools met with representatives from each of the featured departments to select appropriate resources, and update their Campus Improvement Plans with goals and instructional strategies to reflect the allocation of the FARE Grant.
