Football fans now have the chance walk past the long ticket lines that can form before middle- and high-school games.
The Dallas ISD Athletics Department is offering an online, mobile-friendly ticketing system that allows tickets to be purchased and printed beforehand. Tickets may be purchased at www.ticketroar.com/DISD.
“We are extremely pleased to offer our fans and supporters the opportunity to pre-purchase their athletic event tickets online so that that they can avoid the ticket lines when they arrive at the stadiums and gymnasiums,” said Troy Mathieu, Executive Director of Athletics.
The option is already finding happy users.
“During the first week, we introduced the concept to those in line and many went right to their phones to purchase,” said Elisa Cordova-Long, Assistant Athletic Director of Business. “Within minutes they were in the door.”
The move adds convenience and has seen tickets being purchased in advance for big games, such as homecomings or rivalry games. “Logistically, it will reduce the ticket booth lines and provide for more security for students and fans to avoid having to always carry cash for the games,” Cordova-Long said. “The credit card option at the ticket booth will help as well.”
Online tickets will be available for all sports. Volleyball tickets are available now for matches played at central sites, Cordova-Long said. Molina, Skyline and Sunset high schools will begin using the system for matches at its campuses this week as district play begins. The next phase is slated to include all campus athletic events.
The new system is a big win for fans and Dallas ISD.
“We would like to improve customer service by offering more resources and convenience for our fans to purchase tickets,” Cordova-Long said. “At this time, we expect the same fan base, but hope this will allow for increased sales since the process will be easier.”
