Dallas ISD’s student population comes from 115 countries and speaks over 70 different languages.
As part of the district’s commitment to providing a welcoming and protective environment for every student, families who are new to the country and enrolling in school for the first time can visit the Margaret and Gilbert Herrera Student Intake Center.
At the Margaret and Gilbert Herrera Student Intake Center, all new-to-the-country students in grades K through 12 will receive not only enrollment assistance, but also language testing, transcripts evaluation, orientation about the educational system in Dallas ISD and school supplies.
The following items are required for enrollment: proof of address (i.e. utility bill or lease) or a letter proving they are living with someone in the Dallas ISD boundaries, birth certificate of the student, a picture ID of parent or guardian, immunization records (if available) and a report card or transcript (if available).
The Intake Center is located at 9400 N. Central Expy., Ste. 200. Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are encouraged. To make an appointment, call (972) 749-5760.
