Parents who need help to navigate the application process for Dallas ISD’s specialty schools have four remaining opportunities to get help completing their child’s application for collegiate academies, magnets, dual language, Montessori, Transformation and other specialty schools.

Central staff employees from departments that support specialty schools are providing hands-on assistance to parents to complete students’ applications by the Wed., Jan. 31, application deadline.

Some 80 parents braved cold temperatures to attend recent workshops at Emmett Conrad and Thomas Jefferson high schools. To ensure all areas of the community are covered, four additional workshops are planned. Two will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, at W.W. Samuell High School, 8928 Palisade Dr., and W.H. Adamson High School, 309 E. Ninth St. Two final sessions have been added for Lincoln and David W. Carter high schools. Go here for a flyer with more information.

Parents who prefer to complete applications on their own can go here to download a list of links to applications for various specialty schools.
