More than 500 ninth-graders from Dallas ISD’s Moisés E. Molina High School opened their own doors of opportunity by visiting Mountain View College.
The students received mock schedules and attended college classes with professors from the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) who donated their time to help our students experience college life. Molina staff members escorted the ninth-graders in groups of 10 through their college day, attending classes, touring the college and being introduced to Leadership opportunities there. Students also attended a one-hour session with Molina administrators where they learned about GPA, rank, reading a transcript and financial aid opportunities.
Professors made sure students stayed engaged by inviting them to perform with the theater class, making them question reality with a few magic tricks in psychology, and seeing extracurricular activities offered at Mountain View. Students also received their transcripts and began planning their future.
