Discover Dallas ISD Southeast

Hundreds of families got a firsthand look at what Dallas ISD schools in Southeast Dallas have to offer thanks to a fun, festive event held at H. Grady Spruce High School. (Learn more)

Celebration in Balch Springs

The Young Women’s STEAM Academy at Balch Springs celebrated its transition to a single-gender campus at a naming ceremony on Wednesday. (See photos)

Beeping egg hunt

Nearly 80 visually impaired students from Dallas ISD schools participated in a special beeping Easter egg hunt that also featured cookie decorating and more. (Watch a video)

Cooking Up Change

Conrad High School students won the Cooking Up Change competition, which challenges high school students to create healthy menu items on a budget. (Read this)

Underwater robotics

Dallas ISD students competed in the 2017 Dallas Area Regional SeaPerch Underwater Robotics Challenge. (Watch a video)

Destination Imagination Global Finals

Eight Dallas ISD schools have advanced to the Destination Imagination Global Finals being held next month in Tennessee. (See the teams)

TJ distinguished alumni

The Thomas Jefferson High School Alumni Association recognized several of its distinguished alumni, including Dallas ISD Trustee Audrey Pinkerton, at its annual awards ceremony. (Learn more)

Watch the reactions of five seniors at Carter High School as they learn they will receive full ride scholarships, which are each valued at $250,000, to Texas Christian University. (See the video)

STEM grant

The DFW Alliance of Technology and Women awarded the Dallas ISD STEM department a $5,000 grant for after school coding clubs at 10 elementary schools. (Learn more)

Service Above Self

The Rotary Club of Dallas is accepting teacher nominations for its annual Service Above Self Awards through April 17. (Learn more and apply)
